How long does my hair need to be in order to get waxed?

For best results the hair needs to be at least 1/4 inch long. If your hair is particularly coarse then closer to 1/2 inch is even better. It's very important not to shave or trim between waxes as this interrupts the growth pattern.

How often should I get waxed?

To begin with it is best to get waxed every four weeks. As the hair becomes finer you can extend that time period as necessary. It usually takes around 4 waxing treatments to achieve smooth skin, as the hair grows in varying stages.

What should I do before my waxing appointment?

Please make sure that your hair is the appropriate length for waxing and that all areas to be waxed are clean and fresh! Please advise me about any medications, skin conditions or allergies that may affect your waxing treatment.

Will I need to get undressed?

If you're having intimate waxing, you'll need to be naked from the waist down to get a perfect wax, so you will need to leave your modesty at the door. Please don't feel embarrassed. I am a professional and this is my job. All I am focussed on is removing hair.

Can I get waxed if I'm on my period?

Of course! All I ask is that you wear internal protection.

Is waxing painful?

I would love to tell you that you won't feel a thing but that would make me a liar! Waxing can be uncomfortable but it is fast and is made more comfortable by using high quality waxes and waxing products. I use the very best products and techniques to ensure the waxing is as pain free as possible.

What's the difference between strip and non-strip wax?

Strip wax is applied to the skin and then removed using a paper or fabric strip. This works well for large areas such as legs and backs. Non-strip wax (or hot wax as it is also known) works slightly differently. It is applied to the skin and then shrink wraps itself around the hairs. It is then removed without the use of paper or fabric strips. This type of wax works particularly well for facial and intimate waxing as it doesn't stick to the skin and therefore causes less discomfort.
