Before your appointment

Hair needs to be around 8mm long for me to wax so please don’t shave, tweeze or use hair removal creams for 3 weeks before your first appointment or between subsequent appointments.  If the hair is shorter than this you may not achieve the best results.  Equally, if the hair is particularly long, the treatment can be more painful.  In this situation it is best that you trim the hair to approximately 1cm long before your appointment.

Gently exfoliating* your skin the day before your wax helps to remove any build up of dead skin and/or products that may be covering short hairs.  This enables the wax to grab all of the hair and will leave you with nice smooth skin.

Please ensure you are fresh and clean when you attend your appointment.  This will give you a better end result and be much nicer for me too!

There is no reason for you to be self-conscious.  We all consider ourselves to have flaws, but I’m not interested in looking at the size of your belly, bum or bits!  I see various areas of naked bodies all day, every day and am only interested in removing the hair and ensuring the skin remains healthy.

Please arrive on time for your appointment to ensure you receive the treatment/s you have booked.

Aftercare advice

To get the best results from your wax, please follow the guidelines below:

Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness after waxing are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, especially if it’s your first wax. This should settle over the next 24-48 hours but please get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction for the next 24-48 hours.

  • No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only)

  • No saunas or hot tubs

  • No tanning (sunbathing, sunbeds or fake tans)

  • No sport, swimming, gym work or other vigorous exercise

  • No scratching or scrubbing the treated area

  • No sexual activity after intimate waxing

  • No deodorants, body sprays, powders or lotions on the waxed area, other than those products recommended by your therapist

  • Do wear clean, loose fitting clothes

To prevent ingrown hairs: Starting a few days after your appointment gently exfoliate* the skin up to three times a week. Moisturise the area every day to keep the skin supple and helps new hairs to grow through the skin normally.

The first few times you get waxed you may notice a small amount of regrowth occurs quite quickly. It can take several treatments for your hair to get in to a cycle that gives you the best results. Please don’t shave, tweeze or use hair removal creams between appointments as this will prevent you from getting the best results from your waxing.

To maintain your smooth appearance we recommend regular waxing at 4 – 6 week intervals

*When it comes to exfoliation, gentle and often is the way to go. Please don’t use highly abrasive products or scrub vigorously. A gentle exfoliating product is best.
