Aftercare advice

To achieve the best results from your wax and keep your skin healthy, please follow the aftercare advice below.

Some mild redness and tenderness after waxing are completely normal, particularly if it's your first treatment. These temporary reactions usually settle within 24–48 hours. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to get in touch.

For the first 24–48 hours, please avoid:

  • Hot baths or showers (use cool to lukewarm water instead)

  • Saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs

  • Sunbathing, sunbeds and fake tanning products

  • Swimming, the gym, sport or any vigorous exercise

  • Sexual activity (if you have had intimate waxing)

  • Deodorants, body sprays, lotions, powders or other products on the waxed area, unless recommended by your therapist

I recommend:

  • Wearing clean, loose-fitting clothing to minimise friction and irritation

  • Keeping the waxed area clean and sweat free

To achieve the best results and help prevent ingrown hairs:

Wait 72 hours after your appointment before gently exfoliating* the area. Thereafter, exfoliate around three times a week.  This removes the build-up of dead skin cells and any products that may be trapping or covering shorter hairs. It's especially important to exfoliate 48 hours before your waxing appointment, as this helps lift any trapped hairs and allows the wax to grip the hair more effectively.

You should also be moisturising daily to keep your skin soft, supple and healthy. Well-hydrated skin allows new hairs to grow through more easily, helping to reduce the risk of ingrown hairs and making future waxing treatments more comfortable and effective.

Between appointments:

It's completely normal to notice a small amount of regrowth after your first few waxing treatments. Hair grows in different cycles, and it can take several appointments for your hair growth to become more even, giving you the smoothest, longest-lasting results.

To achieve the best outcome, please don't shave, trim, tweeze or use hair removal creams between appointments, as this disrupts the hair growth cycle and reduces the effectiveness of future waxing treatments.

Recommended maintenance:

For consistently smooth results, I recommend booking your waxing appointments every 4–6 weeks.

*When it comes to exfoliation, gentle and often is the way to go. Please don’t use highly abrasive products or scrub vigorously. A gentle exfoliating product is best.
